Sports talk with Carmen Electra: model, actress, dealer
TSN:
You dealt the first hand at last month's opening of the
first official World Poker Tour room, at the Foxwoods
Resort Casino in Connecticut. How'd you do?
ELECTRA: Fine, but I was nervous. My husband (musician
Dave Navarro) is a great poker player, but I'm not
really into it.
TSN: What kind of an athlete are you?
ELECTRA: I grew up a dancer. I studied gymnastics for a
while--I loved gymnastics--but I went to a performing
arts high school and we didn't even have gym class! I
did have Russian ballet teachers, though, so it was
pretty intense.TSN: Nick Lachey went to your high
school. If you wanted to, couldn't you wrest the title
of Most Famous Cincinnati Bearcats Fan from him in about
2 seconds? ELECTRA: I don't know. I mean, I wouldn't
want to. It's cool the way he cheerleads. He has so much
love for his team.
TSN: Are you a sports fan?
ELECTRA: Probably the only sport I really got into was
basketball. I wonder why that is.
TSN: I think that was a Dennis Rodman reference.
ELECTRA: Of course it was.
TSN: You're the instructor in a line of strip aerobics
DVDs. How would you sell that activity to our readers,
an estimated 99.5 percent of whom are grotesquely
overweight males?
ELECTRA: This workout is for women, OK? But I can say
for all the men out there who want to give it as a gift
to their wives or girlfriends--it'll spice up your love
lives. Just imagine her getting into great shape and
adding spice to the bedroom. |
